Tradewind Books has been publishing fine books from Vancouver, British Columbia since 1996. Our titles have been recognized internationally for their fine illustrations, award-winning writing and innovative design—children’s literature that draws upon the Canadian multi-cultural landscape. Our beautifully illustrated picture books tell stories from around the world: from Mexico to Iraq, China to Russia. In addition to traditional picture books we publish poetry, chapter books, novels and information books. Over the last few years, our writers have been invited to festivals across Canada to read from Tradewind titles: Paul Yee, Sheree Fitch, Ellen Schwartz, and Simon Rose to the Winnipeg Fresh Air Writers Festival; Paul Yee (3 times), Ellen Schwartz, Sheree Fitch and Sheldon Oberman to the Vancouver Writers Festival; Sheree Fitch to the Sunshine Coast Writers Festival; Paul Yee, Sheree Fitch and Simon Rose to the Ottawa Writers Festival, Simon Rose and PaulYee to the Calgary and Banff Wordfest; Paul Yee and Sheree Fitch to the Eden Mills Writers Festival. Robert Heidbreder has been invited to the prestigious Kaleidoscope Children’s Literature Conference in Calgary 2008.
